Project description
Barclays Technology Services, assisted by Price Waterhouse, undertook a four month ‘opportunities review’ which identified a number of focus areas for re-engineering. One of the most significant areas was the re-engineering (premises, equipment, software, technical architecture, support, etc) of the Bank’s main Data Centres.
Concurrently, ItemPlus was completing an assignment with BTS to design, plan and cost a significantly enhanced Disaster Recovery Capability for the IBM mainframe environment.
ItemPlus was asked to support BTS in taking forward a combined project through to executive sanction.
ItemPlus worked alongside the programme manager, providing general support but with a focus on the following areas:
- costing alternates, and building the investment business case
- identifying work activities, preparing programme plans and programme organisation
- stakeholder management, executive briefings, and completion of the final executive presentations, reports and submissions
