Project description
Swinton Group has pursued an aggressive change programme for its retail operations since 1994. The programme included new systems for central operations and branches.
In 1997, Swinton decided to review its Retail Systems Strategy in the light of:
- business and project change since 1994
- Year 2000
- new industry developments (e.g. POLARIS).
ItemPlus worked with the Swinton management team and Directors to review the status of, and options for, the strategy. Business and IT options were developed, costed and evaluated by small teams. The results were then consolidated by the full team and recommendations prepared.
The recommendations were presented to the Board.
Outcome
The recommendations were accepted and more detailed planning started.
