Project description

The Society depends upon a software supplier for its core business systems. Business pressures including Millennium compliance made it imperative that a new software release was implemented on the planned date.

ItemPlus was asked to perform a quick review to:

  • confirm whether the Society was doing the right things
  • define the additional actions required to ensure a successful upgrade.

The assignment included intensive interviewing of business and technical management and the software supplier to identify potential problem areas and solutions. Key issues were quickly identified using proprietary assessment techniques.

ItemPlus recommended:

  • a high level activity and milestone plan
  • technical alternatives to reduce the risks.

Outcome

The recommendations were accepted and actioned. The software was implemented on time.
